Cake smash sessions are always a joyful experience, but these standout themes brought a unique spark to the studio. From inventive ideas to adorable props, each session had its own charm. Let’s take a trip down memory lane together!
A Dino-Mite Celebration
Without a doubt, one of the most unforgettable sessions of the year was the dinosaur-favorite cake smash themed smash. What made this session extra special was the twist—instead of a traditional cake, the parents opted for steak as the “treat.” This unexpected choice turned the session into a delightful mix of prehistoric fun and creativity. Watching the little one interact with such a unique “smash” element was a treat for everyone involved. The green and earthy tones of the setup perfectly complemented the theme, creating an atmosphere that felt straight out of the Jurassic era.

Out of This World: Baby Yoda
Another favorite cake smash theme was the Baby Yoda-themed cake smash, inspired by the adorable and ever-popular character from The Mandalorian. This session featured soft greens, browns, and starry backdrops that transported everyone to a galaxy far, far away. The cake itself was shaped like Baby Yoda’s head, complete with those iconic ears. It was a whimsical and fun theme that brought smiles to the entire family.
Buzzing with Joy: Bumble Bee Bash
The Bumble Bee theme was as sweet as honey! The bright yellows and black accents created a cheerful vibe, while tiny bee props and flower arrangements added a touch of nature. The little one looked absolutely adorable in a bee-inspired outfit, making this session a buzzing success.
Llama Love
Who could resist a llama-themed cake smash? This session was all about vibrant colors, playful decorations, and, of course, the cutest llama cake you could imagine. With pom-poms, cacti, and tassels adorning the setup, it felt like a mini fiesta. The joyful energy of this session was contagious, leaving everyone with big smiles.

For the little one who loves animals, the Party Animal theme was a perfect choice. This session was a riot of fun with tiny party hats on stuffed animals, colorful balloons, and a cake that resembled a wild jungle. The playful setup made it a hit with both kids and parents alike.

Strawberry Dreams: A Sweet Escape
Strawberry Dreams easily became one of my top favorites. The soft pinks, reds, and whites created a dreamy aesthetic, while the strawberry-themed cake looked almost too good to smash. This session felt like stepping into a fairytale, and it was as sweet and delightful as the little one celebrating their big day.
Flying High: Aviator Adventure
Lastly, the Aviator theme soared to new heights. With tiny airplanes, clouds, and a vintage aviator cap, this session captured the wonder of flight and adventure. The backdrop featured a blue sky with puffy white clouds, making it feel like the little one was ready to take off. This theme rounded out my top three favorites from last year.
