The Brownstone Wedding

It’s always been a dream of mine to be able to photography at The Brownstone Wedding Venue. It’s an an elegant and charming event venue in Topeka. It has everything you need from inside and outdoor options. It’s not easy to find a location that meets all photographer DREAMS! Yup! You heard me. It is a photographers dream.

The Brownstone was a perfect location for Jessica & Jackson’s wedding. One of my favorite things about these two was how much this venue truly fit them.

Normally I get to know my clients before their wedding day, but every couple is different. These two didn’t need an engagement session nor did they live here in Topeka. I love when I get to meet my clients needs by adjusting.

The second I walked into the bridal suite I knew Jessica was a match made just for me. Her energy just lite the whole room. I truly felt like I knew her for years and years. I might add that her family and friends where the best! I’ve been to a lot of weddings but her family and friends truly felt like I was apart of it all.

I know you all love a funny story, including when it involves me being…well…ME…

Side note I drove from Kansas to Topeka (1.5 hour trip) to photograph Jessicas and Jacksons wedding…on the way I stopped for an Ocean Water….

As I’m chatting with all the bride and her amazing bridesmaids…One of them noticed my BRIGHT BLUE TONGUE. Yup…I ate a SMURF on my way. lol I was so embarrassed. This was the first wedding I have photographed since the pandemic started I decided not to wear a mask. Which meant, I was not being alter to what my tongue looked like. I’m still blushing.
