Jake + Kayla

Jake and Kayla had such an amazing fall Kansas City wedding at the Meadowlark Event Space!

(Still a bit of summer heat but no one is complaining!)

When I first met these two I could instantly tell  how important their wedding was to share with their loved ones.

Just simply wanting a wedding that showcased the fun and love they had for their families.

It sure showed every moment on their wedding day.

Meadowlark Event Space was a perfect location for Jake and Kayla’s wedding.

I love when I shoot at venues for the first time. Just enjoyed everything about it. What an amazing layout!

How did you two meet?!

Jake and I went to high school together but did not know each other! My best friend and neighbor, Chaz, use to tell me that he has a friend that lives up the street that he goes fishing with. I used to joke with him saying he was making this person up because I’d never met him! Chaz graduated from bootcamp a year after we graduated high school in 2013. I officially met Jake at the San Diego airport in July of 2013. We spent 5 days in San Diego with Chaz after his graduation from boot camp! When we got back home, we hung out every day for 2 weeks because Chaz was home for a short time! We ended up continuing to hangout and we started dating in September of 2013!

How long have you been engaged and how did he propose?!

We got engaged on October 19th! He is a hunter, so we were out looking at some property for him to hunt on in Edgerton. While we were walking the treeline, he proposed! Funny thing is- we both had our phones in the car and didn’t have anyone with us, so we went to my sister’s house and my 10 year old niece took a picture of us so we could announce it to our family and friends!
