Kansas City Wedding Photographer | LOVE

TANNER & EMILY

These two are power couple, if you ever saw one! From the moment I met them I knew what kind of love they had. One that was everlasting. You should check out their engagement session if you haven’t already.

This couple has a unique beginning. Emily was very close to Tanners mother from the start.

His mom first got diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer when Tanner was eight years old and she went into remission when he was around ten. Tanner met Emily at the end of February of 2014. They started dating that March. This is where they became they started to become close. If you know Emily you know how easy it is to love her!

In December of 2014 she was diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer that was then progressed to be terminal and had moved to other vital organs and her bones. Through all of this she still was in the best spirit. She never let anything get her down as she was the backbone of the family.

When January came along, she had a major surgery. Emily walked her down to the operating room where she sat her down to tell her that she will always be a daughter to her. She said she was leaving it all up to Emily to watch over her family when  she is gone.

On May 4th, 2015 we had a mock graduation ceremony in the family living room. His mother was on hospice. It was important that Tanner put on his cap and gown so she could see him be presented with his diploma.

She passed away on May 6th, 2015, 14 days before our “real”l high school graduation.

Emily said, “She was more than incredible and she is so missed.”
